Umbra Ex Libris started as an idea when we first started collecting books. We needed away to keep track of our collection and we needed something to call it. We spent hours looking up different ideas, languages, and phrases that encapsulated what we wished our collection would be remembered as. Soon after our search began, we discovered our personal lives are created through books. It is clear we both love to read so that one was obvious. But we also both love to learn. Additionally, we love to explore nature and learn new things about it. We love video games which come from writers. We love music, specifically playing it, which comes with stacks of sheet music and books. Our lives unfolded in the shadow of many books. The shadow of books, Umbra Ex Libris.
So we had the name, but why did we start writing. The truth is we always have written. Now we just have a place to put our writings. We have always discussed our books and done informal reviews. Now we have a place to store those collections as well. We also just love sharing. Whether is be unpopular opinions on what food is the best or how we organize the ever growing pile of books on our bedroom floor, we want to share. We are very grateful you have taken the time to read what we share. We hope you are able to take something away.
